Biography

Steve Mara’s love of construction started at the age of 16 on a concrete flatwork crew in Minnesota and continued through his college years with a variety of laborer and carpenter jobs. During the 1980s Steve worked for both Hoffman and Baugh Construction in Portland. In 1996, he was promoted and joined Baugh Construction’s Seattle office and went on to become president of Baugh’s Washington operation. In 2000, Baugh was acquired by Skanska USA, and Steve left the firm. After consulting for several years, he rejoined old friends and partners at Howard S. Wright Construction Co., where he has served as president of the Washington operation since January of 2004.
